For those who don’t know, Reggie is our oyster guy, and for the last nine years, he’s been hand delivering us molluscs from his home town of Cowell on SA’s Eyre Peninsula.
They’re farmed by Reggie’s friends, Tim and Terry Rehn of Franklin Harbour Oyster Co. – a region that’s been producing some of Australia’s finest Pacific Oysters for over 30 years.
The conditions down there are ideal; surrounding mangroves filter impurities from the water, leaving the perfect nutrient-rich diet for our little mates.
Historically, we’d just slurp ‘em from the shell. Now, they’re shucked into every batch of Reggie’s Oyster Stout – a collab brew in its third year of production.
The meat and brine bring untold richness to the beer, along with a unique (and decidedly moreish) mineral character.
We love working with quality produce & people, hence why this one hits home for us. Sure, we’re stoked with the liquid but hanging out with our pals from Cowell is easily the best bit.
Aww, shucks…
