This PL Classic may be mid-strength, but it’s certainly no shrinking violet. Wielding a solid malt chassis and a swift hoppy kick, Throwback proves that an IPA doesn't need a big ABV to make an impact.
It pours with a striking orange hue, thanks to a blend of malted barley and wheat. Simcoe, Taiheke and Enigma hops supply dank and herbaceous aromas, while simultaneously generating a moreish bitter lift.
On the palate, citrus pairs with notes of biscuit and spice. There’s a resinous quality too, and a bright, textured mouthfeel. It doesn’t taste like a middy – and that has always been core to its charm.
