Originally one half of a parti-gyle brew, this Breakfast Stout remains a PL icon. Inky, bold, and perfect for the cooler months, it transports us to Beer and BBQ circa 2019.
25’s batch has the same malt bill, though the second runnings weren’t used in a black IPA – we kept all that wort for the main attraction.
Additions of cocoa, coffee (courtesy of legendary SA roaster, Ricca Coffee Co.), and vanilla complement the hops, offering a complex network of flavours. They lurk beneath the surface, awaiting capture from an astute tongue like yours.
It pours raisin black, with a honeyed edge. You’ll get aromas of coffee liqueur and pancakes doused in syrup. Viscous, decadent, and tremendously well balanced for its size.
